Overview

Edgbaston Galleries is the focus for the largest regeneration project of a principal gateway to Birmingham city centre.

The major £110 million redevelopment will create a high quality location for work and leisure and will change the face of Five Ways island.

The plans will see the existing 1960’s office and shopping scheme demolished and replaced with a new 39,500 sq m (424,500 sq ft) development boasting 15,000 sq m (159,300 sq ft) of Grade A office space, 10,100 sq m (108,600 sq ft) of retail (including a foodstore) and leisure, hotel accommodation and 800 car parking spaces. The plans will transform the area and provide a truly aspirational destination.

With its prominent location at Five Ways island and the Hagley Road, Calthorpe Estates is working with Birmingham City Council to ensure the scheme complements other proposed improvements to the area, including the proposed extension of the Midland Metro from Snow Hill Station via the city centre and past Edgbaston Galleries to the Hagley Road.
